PRESS RELEASE Beceem Leads the 4G-WiMAX Revolution Right Here in India Technology leadership and state of the art chipsets created in India, for India New Delhi, December 11, 2007: Beceem Communications, the leading provider of terminal chipsets for Mobile 4G-WiMAX , today announced that more than 10 commercial Mobile 4G-WiMAX devices have been designed with Beceem’s industry leading BCS200 chipset, and will be shipping into Mobile 4G-WiMAX networks around the world in 2008. These products, primarily PC modems (USB dongles, PC cards, Express cards) and low-cost desktop modems, comply with the new Mobile 4G-WiMAX standard for which the Department of Telecommunications has recently allocated 2.5 GHz spectrum to be auctioned off to service providers like BSNL, Reliance, Tata Communications and Bharti in 2008, finally clearing the way for large scale Mobile 4G-WiMAX deployments in India. Beceem has started developing its industry defining chipsets 4 years ago in its R&D center in Bangalore, and Beceem’s CTO and co-founder is one of India’s most eminent technology visionaries, Dr. Arogyaswami Paulraj. Under the guidance of Dr. Paulraj Beceem has led the 4G-WiMAX ecosystem by launching 3 generations of Mobile 4G-WiMAX terminal chipsets.
