BCS5350 Data & Voice WiMAX™ Wave 2 CPE Chipset

The BCS5350 is a single chip that integrates high-performance mobile WiMAX baseband and radio transceiver functionality for implementing a full-featured IEEE 802.16e/WiMAX Release 1.0/Release 1.5 compliant subscriber station for CPE (customer premises equipment). The solution supports integration of dual-receive and transmit chains operating in a tightly coupled manner to deliver a cost-effective MIMO and beam-forming solution. The entire PHY, MAC, and RF functionality of a Mobile WiMAX terminal is implemented by this device. A minimal number of external components are required.

The baseband includes PHY, MAC, and host functionality and allows for software programmability. Both the PHY and MAC functionality are implemented using a combination of hardware and software to achieve an optimal balance between cost, power consumption, performance, and flexibility. Further, the advanced features implemented in this device increase throughput and indoor penetration performance for both portable and fixed applications.

The BCS5350 CPE device for residential, SOHO (small office/home office), SMB (small-to-midsize businesses), and enterprise networks combines high-performance Wave2 WiMAX modem functionality with a WAN router platform and a low-latency voice subsystem. The BCS5350 device allows faster delivery of 'indoor residential gateways', outdoor CPEs, and 'office-in-a-box' mobile WiMAX CPE products while reducing total system cost.

BCS5200 Single-Chip 4G-WiMAX/VoIP Gateway Solution

The BCS5200 CPE chipset for residential, small office/home office (SOHO), small-to-midsize businesses (SMB) and enterprise applications combines high-performance Wave 2 4G-WiMAX modem functionality and a VPN/WAN router platform with a guaranteed low-latency voice subsystem. The BCS5200 speeds the delivery of ‘residential gateway’ and ‘office-in-a-box’ mobile 4G-WiMAX customer premise products while reducing total system cost.

The Beceem BCS5200 4G-WiMAX CPE terminal solution consists of a high performance baseband IC and a dual-band direct conversion RFIC for operation in 2.3, 2.5 and 3.5 GHz bands. The BCS5200 builds upon and leverages 24 months of intensive field trial experience with the infrastructure solutions of leading 4G-WiMAX OEMs, and delivers a cost-effective, high-performance Beamforming and MIMO solution designed to enable the most demanding CPE applications.
